These antique chests from Italy each features a rectangular top with a subtle crossbanded border, highlighting the warm honey and amber tones of the wood grain. The case is fitted with three graduated drawers, each adorned with a simple veneered panel and banding including knots and varied grain patterns that give each piece individual character. A distinctive shield-shaped escutcheon keyhole set at each center. Interior drawers appear to retain decorative paper linings, adding an appealing period detail. The chests are raised on tapered square legs with gently faceted detailing about the knees. Note the backside of these chests are unadorned, making best use for placement against a wall.
