Created for the Italian manufacturer Fratelli Tonini in the 1960s, these sculptural pieces are part of the acclaimed "Amadeus" series. This pair is made of heavy, solid cast brass with a deep, authentic patina that has naturally oxidized, darkened, and collected verdigris marks over time. The pieces are not signed, typical of the Amadeus series.

Kurt Jesch was a mid-century Austrian designer and artist best known for his sculptural, brutalist metalwork and candelabra designs. His work features organic, rough textures, bark-like finishes, and fluid plant-like or abstract shapes. He worked with Austrian workshops like AMADEO Metallguß Manufaktur in Linz and Bleiburg, and partnered with the Italian manufacturer Fratelli Tonini (based in Brescia, Italy) to produce his iconic bronze, brass, and silver-plated pieces in the 1950s through the 1970s.
