The rectangular frame houses a mirror bordered by … Read more 18th-century wall mirror from Piedmont, crafted in carved and gilded linden wood. The rectangular frame houses a mirror bordered by small mirrors held by two carved moldings, adorned with gilded floral details. The carvings applied to the frame include an apron with volutes and leafy scrolls, sides enriched with floral clusters, and rocaille feet. The crest features an elaborate play of acanthus leaves, curls, and overlapping rocaille brackets. This mirror represents a refined example of the blend between Baroque taste and the lighter Rococo, typical of Turin's production of the time. Similar examples are documented in study texts and present in Savoy residences, such as the hunting lodge of Stupinigi. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
