Here is a wonderful early mid-20th century wall-mounted console table with an especially beautiful sculptural silhouette. Finished in a warm mahogany tone, the console features gracefully curved supports, small turned finial details, and a wonderfully shaped apron.
What I especially love is the scalloped detailing, which continues around the entire piece rather than being limited to the front. The shaped top echoes the apron below, giving the console a lovely sense of movement from every angle. The sweeping supports terminate in curled feet and meet at a decorative center block accented by charming turned finials.
At just 11 inches deep, it offers the presence of a traditional console without taking up much floor space — perfect for an entry, hallway, stair landing, or anywhere a little architectural interest is needed.
