This elegant vintage mirror combines the refined vocabulary of the louis xvi style with the glamorous decorative sensibility associated with hollywood regency design. Its restrained circular form is framed by a slender molded surround accented with a beautifully twisted rope detail, creating subtle depth without overwhelming the composition. The true focal point is the magnificent sculptural bow crowning the mirror. Fashioned in metal and finished in aged gilt tones, the bow has a wonderfully lively, almost textile-like quality. Its deliberately irregular surface captures the folds and movement of tied ribbon, while a small layered floral rosette forms the center of the composition.
