The broad border is filled with scrolling foliage and stylized flowers, while the center is decorated with painted ribbon banners bearing Italian inscriptions that read, "Chi troppo va dal prete diventa eretico e si ammala chi spesso va dal medico," which translates to "He who goes to the priest too often becomes a heretic, and he who often goes to the doctor falls ill."

Dating approximately to the 1960s–1980s, the plate reflects the long tradition of colorful maiolica associated with Faenza.
