It is a recent … Read more This is a RARE Christian Dior fashion design print for summer fashion that dates to 1991. It is a recent purchase. It originally appeared in a haute couture French magazine of the time.. It is NOT a recent reprodution print. It features a black and white bare back sleeveless dress worn with an ovesized sweeping long shirt with full sleeves and high collar. The model wears an oversized wide rim black hat. She sure makes a statement at the "Longchamp" races. She turns with an over the shoulder glace at a spectator for sure! With her dark sunglasses and red lipstick she makes a chic statement herself. This is a strong Dior design that is illustrated and signed by Rene Gruau with his signature "g". Gruau's iconic graphic styling and bold imagery are apparent.. The creative friendship between Christian Dior and Rene Gruau was a collaboration which celebrated a special spirit which continued for many years, even after Dior’s death in 1957. This image captures the essence and the spirit of these geniuses. The image is perfect for today's fashionista or vintage clothing collector. It is in pristine condition. RARE and highly collectible.
