Handcrafted in Indonesia in the mid 20th century, this sculptural pair of teak and cane lounge chairs captures the relaxed sophistication of British Colonial and Planter’s style. The continuous scroll arms, deep reclining angle, and beautifully woven herringbone cane seat and back create a silhouette long associated with tropical verandas and shaded porticos.
The teak frames carry a warm, natural patina with subtle wear that speaks to decades of gentle use. The cane remains tight and resilient, with one small break visible in photos. Turned stretchers and arched legs anchor the form, giving each chair a grounded, architectural presence.
These chairs invite lingering with an effortless sense of calm, craftsmanship, and tropical ease.

Teak left has been left unsealed to preserve natural patina, and luster is the result of hand buffing rather than a coating. Cane rehydrated with a gentle glycerine treatment to restore suppleness.
