The chairs reinterpret the traditional … Read more A striking one-of-a-kind pair of bespoke armchairs commissioned directly from London design studio Jimmie Martin.

The chairs reinterpret the traditional French-style fauteuil in Jimmie Martin's irreverent contemporary vocabulary, combining carved white frames, white leather upholstery and nailhead trim with original hand-painted and graffiti-style artwork created specifically for the commission.

Each chair is individually decorated on all sides, with hand-painted typography, drawings, lyrics, symbols, dates, graphic motifs and vivid spray-painted accents. Although conceived as a pair, no two surfaces are identical. The restrained white leather and classical silhouettes provide a dramatic contrast to the expressive artwork.

These were custom commissioned pieces rather than standard production chairs, making the pair completely unique.

The chairs have been used and show age-appropriate wear and patina to the white leather and painted frames, including areas of light discoloration, scuffing and slight surface wear.
