Early English porcelain shallow plate in the celebrated Pattern 106, known as “Crazy Cow,” dating to the early 19th century, circa 1805–1815. The central animal is a Chinese mythical creature known as kylin / qilin; “Crazy Cow” is a collector’s term. The pattern reflects the broader English fascination with Chinese export porcelain designs. The decoration is executed in an Imari-inspired palette of iron-red and green enamels, with a rich blue ring defining the central medallion and enclosing the stylized animal, surrounded by leaves, flowers, and small floral details. The decoration is characteristic of early English ceramics, with enamels applied over the glaze to produce more intense and vivid colors. The underside is marked “M 106” in blue, consistent with early Minton Pattern 106.
A distinctive example of early Minton porcelain, particularly well-suited to interiors incorporating Georgian, Regency, chinoiserie, English country house, traditional, or eclectic decorative styles. Its vivid palette also makes it an effective accent in rooms with dark wood, painted cabinetry, antique furniture, or richly patterned textiles. Suitable for collectors of early English Georgian and Regency ceramics and chinoiserie.
For display, the plate would work especially well on a bookcase or hung on a wall, allowing the central animal and colorful decoration to be viewed at eye level. It could also be displayed on a plate stand atop a console or sideboard.

There is flaking to the surrounding enamels, particularly in the green foliage, along with a rim blemish that appears to be from manufacture and other minor imperfections, as shown.
