We’re proud to offer this incredible Bassett Furniture Monterey collection, designed by renowned designer Leo Jiranek and dating to approximately 1962–1963.

The Monterey line is one of Bassett’s most distinctive MCM designs, and this set showcases all the details that make it so collectible — beautifully grained walnut, sculpted drawer fronts, tapered legs, and those unmistakable rosewood “X” inlays that function as the drawer pulls.

A LITTLE HISTORY

The Bassett Monterey collection was designed by Leo Jiranek and is believed to have had an exceptionally short production run of only about 10 months between 1962 and 1963.

The combination of walnut veneer over solid wood construction, sculptural details, rosewood accents, and beautifully proportioned Danish-inspired silhouettes makes this one of the more distinctive Bassett collections from the early 1960s.

This is not your average Bassett bedroom furniture.

It’s a seriously beautiful piece of early-1960s American Mid-Century Modern design — and a fantastic opportunity to acquire multiple matching pieces from one of Bassett’s most recognizable collections.
