It's stamped on the piece- I totally … Read more This is solid rock maple from Sprague and Carleton furniture of New Hampshire. It's stamped on the piece- I totally cheated. When they say solid, they mean solid. This is 1960s old growth maple- heavy, dense and serious hardwood. The design lends itself to a multitude of styles- boho, colonial, farmhouse and coastal to name a few. The sides alternate between the arched doorways and solidly routered pieces - use the open areas for a stack of books, some sculptures or leave it open for wandering four legged friends. Check out the grain on these beauties! The gold is a true brown gold, no reddish tint. There are a couple of grey paint drips that will likely be gone before they ship, and a handful of scratches on the feet of one, all seen in the photos. I needed to take the pictures before I had to return to getting stuff done and forgot. See less
