Beautiful vintage frosted glass lamp shade featuring a soft powder-blue exterior decorated with an elegant monochromatic rose and foliage motif.
The shade has an especially attractive bell-shaped silhouette, beginning with a small fitter at the top, gently curving outward through the body, and finishing with a dramatic ruffled and scalloped lower edge measuring approximately 10 inches across.
The exterior has a delicate pale blue frosted finish accented by a large rose surrounded by leaves, branches, and rosebuds in subtle blue-gray and white tones. The interior is frosted white, which helps diffuse the light and produces a wonderfully soft, warm glow when illuminated.
The floral decoration is applied to the exterior surface of the shade. The exact decorative technique and manufacturer are unknown; therefore, no attribution to a particular maker or painting technique is being made.
Particularly beautiful when illuminated—the translucent frosted glass glows while the floral decoration remains visible, giving the shade a romantic and atmospheric appearance.
