The vase has a graceful baluster-shaped body with a dramatically flared upper rim. The decoration extends around the vase and includes delicate flowering branches, leaves, berries and other botanical elements in shades of pink, red, green, yellow and deep blue. Portions of the enamel decoration are noticeably raised, giving the painted design a slightly three-dimensional quality.

A trailing leafy vine decorates the wide flared neck, which is finished with a fine gold-colored rim.

The form and decorative treatment are suggestive of late 19th- to early 20th-century European, possibly Bohemian, enameled art glass. No maker’s mark was observed, so the exact manufacturer and country of origin are unknown.

Condition: Vintage/antique condition with expected surface wear, including some scratches and wear associated with age and use. There appears to be some wear/loss to the painted enamel and gold decoration. Please examine all photographs carefully for the most accurate representation of condition. No maker’s mark was observed on the base.

An unusually large and very decorative example of hand-enameled glass, particularly attractive displayed where light can pass through the clear body and painted floral decoration. See less
