Signed and numbered by the artist it features a vibrant, rich cobalt blue ground adorned with hand-painted irises in shades of purple and pink. The long, stylized green leaves are outlined with brilliant gold gilt. It has a flared collar and is bordered by a gilded geometric Greek key pattern overlayed with leaf accents, providing a classical contrast to the fluid, naturalistic style below. This piece utilizes a thick cloisonné like relief enamel glaze over a fine earthenware base, which gives the colors unique depth and a glossy tactile quality.
