The shade has a beautifully sculptural bell form with a dramatic hand-formed ruffled edge outlined in deep cobalt blue. Scattered blue and creamy white glass inclusions flow throughout the body, while colorful red, blue, green, yellow, and multicolored millefiori-style canes create a lively floral pattern around the upper portion.
The handcrafted nature of the glass is especially apparent in the irregular undulating rim, variations within the glass, and substantial weight of the piece. When illuminated, the pale aqua glass takes on a warm golden glow and the colorful murrines become beautifully translucent, giving the shade an entirely different appearance from its unlit state.
