This ceramic piece radiates a rustic and authentic charm, typical of the glazed pottery of Soufflenheim in Alsace. The plumage is rendered with great care: a dominant black glaze covers the body, enhanced with reddish-brown hues on the crest, tail, and legs, while the belly takes on a beautiful beige-ochre shade with warm highlights, featuring finely sculpted feather details in relief. A characterful animal figurine, ideal for adding a touch of rustic charm to a shelf or a kitchen.
This zoomorphic ceramic piece is antique, dating from the 1920s or 30s. It is in excellent condition. The shine and colors are intact.
