This elegant Italian Mid-Century desk armchair, designed by Vittorio Dassi and produced during the 1950s, reflects the refined balance between sculptural design and everyday functionality that characterizes some of the finest Italian executive furniture of the period.
Crafted in teak, the chair features a clean architectural frame softened by gently curved armrests and a slightly flared backrest. The slender tapered legs terminate in original brass sabots, adding a discreet decorative touch while visually lightening the structure.
The seat and back are upholstered in burgundy leather, secured with individually applied brass nailheads that follow the elegant contour of the backrest. The gently curved upper rail and the subtle widening of the back provide both comfort and a distinctive silhouette, making the chair equally attractive from the front and the rear.
The armrests are particularly well proportioned, with rounded hand grips that offer a comfortable seating position for use at a desk or conference table. Every element has been carefully balanced, resulting in a chair that feels both substantial and visually light.
The armchair remains in its original condition, preserving its original teak finish and leather upholstery. It shows minor age-related wear, consistent with careful use, while retaining a beautiful patina and excellent structural integrity.
The two original chairs for the client that made up the study set are also available
