Albisola, the historic ceramic workshop founded by vittoria mazzotti in albisola, italy, circa 1960s.
the piece is distinguished by its elaborate architectural form, with a broad oval body, four modeled feet, and large scrolling handles that create a striking and highly decorative silhouette.
the tin-glazed earthenware is finished in a classic cobalt blue and white palette. One side is hand-painted with an italian landscape and hilltop architecture, while the reverse features a botanical composition of stylized foliage and trees.
the underside bears the hand-painted “v.m. Albisola” mark, confirming the manufacture.
with its substantial scale and unusual form, this centerpiece is a strong example of post-war albisola ceramic production and works equally well as a standalone sculptural object or decorative table centerpiece.
