This rare design reflects the celebrated … Read more An exceptional pair of 19th-century English William IV parcel-gilt ormolu and patinated bronze candlesticks. This rare design reflects the celebrated 1834 mold created by royal goldsmith William Bateman II for Rundell, Bridge & Rundell, beautifully showcasing classical Regency and Directoire aesthetic influences.

Each candlestick features a finely cast, detailed leaf-foliate nozzle capital sitting atop a textured, columned stem. The central structure is flanked by three magnificently sculpted patinated bronze swans modeled back-to-back with elongated, gracefully curved necks raised upward. The entire structure rests securely on a heavy, textured triform base decorated with recessed, low-relief ornamental panels, supported by three distinct lobed bun feet.

Measurements: 6.5" H x 4.5" W x 4.5" D

Condition: Very good antique condition showing beautiful, authentic age-appropriate gold gilt wear and rubbing to the ormolu surfaces. Minor light scuffing. See less
