An extraordinary 1998 studio art glass centerpiece bowl by renowned American glassblower Paul Bendzunas. Crafted in a striking handkerchief form with dramatic, undulating ruffled edges, this piece showcases a rich, saturated magenta-pink cased glass body. Closer inspection reveals subtle internal micro-bubbles accompanied by a generous shimmering scattering of gold metallic flecks throughout the glass. The sweeping rim is finished with multiple distinct ribbons of black and gold wraps, that define its organic silhouette.
• The underside of the polished base ring features the incised artist signature and date.

The body, flared rim, and interior are free of cracks, chips, or deep scratches. • As noted and pictured, there is superficial roughness/checking around the pontil break mark on the base from manufacturing; this has been smoothed/filed and is entirely superficial, not penetrating through to the bowl interior or compromising the vessel's structural integrity. less
