A striking antique Japanese Imari porcelain vase dating to approximately the late Meiji to early Taishō period, circa 1900.
The vase is richly hand-decorated in the traditional Imari palette with deep cobalt blue, iron red, turquoise, cream and gilt accents. Elaborate panels feature stylized pine trees, floral medallions, architectural landscape scenes and intricate brocade-inspired patterns.
The extensive decoration continues around the entire vessel, giving the vase a beautiful appearance from every angle. A small hand-painted character or decorator’s mark appears on the underside.
An exceptional decorative piece for a traditional, collected, maximalist or layered interior. Beautiful displayed alone or incorporated into a collection of Japanese and Asian porcelain.
