Decorative Italian majolica vase adorned using the decalcomania transfer technique, where the colourful ornamental pattern and portrait medallion are applied as transfer prints in classic majolica style. Origin: Italy. Material: Majolica / earthenware. Dimensions: H. 36 cm, D. 16 cm. Period: 20th century. Condition: Very good condition with minor signs of wear. Italian majolica has long combined vivid colours, ornamental motifs, and historical references. During the 20th century, many workshops adopted the decalcomania technique to achieve highly detailed and repeatable surface designs, later fixed by low-temperature firing. The result is decorative ware that preserves the traditional majolica aesthetic while reflecting modern production methods. See less
