The piece is formed from a thick mass of deep violet glass, measuring approximately 2.7 cm in thickness and weighing 4.2 kg. In lower or indoor light it appears extremely dark, almost black-purple, while natural daylight and backlighting reveal luminous amethyst-to-fuchsia tones.
A subtle reddish circular inclusion is visible within the glass, creating a geometric focal point that becomes more apparent under certain lighting conditions and adds depth to the composition.
The platter can be displayed horizontally as a centerpiece or sculptural tray, or vertically on a stand as an abstract decorative object, where its transparency and changing color become especially striking.
The underside retains a deliberately raw, irregular and heavily textured surface consistent with the original forming process, while the upper surface is smooth and polished. Internal air veils, bubbles and subtle variations within the glass are consistent with hand-worked furnace production and contribute to the individual character of the piece.
The work is unsigned and is therefore conservatively presented as an unattributed Murano glass piece.
