The … Read more Elegant English silver plate coffee and tea service by William Adams of Sheffield, England, in the Georgian Revival style. The five-piece service includes a coffeepot, teapot, covered sugar bowl, creamer, and waste bowl. Each piece in the set is part of William Adams pattern 76030 and is Electro-Plated Nickel Silver on copper. This particular set likely dates from the late Victorian or early Edwardian era. William Adams, established in the late 18th century, continued to be a significant manufacturer through the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The service features beautifully proportioned baluster-form bodies with distinctive gadrooned and fluted decoration, molded rims, raised pedestal bases, and matching gadrooned finials. The coffee and tea pots are fitted with graceful curved spouts, and dark wood heat resistant handles complemented by the matching finials on the hinged covers. The richly ribbed lower bodies gives the service a particularly handsome and traditional English appearance. This attractive set would be beautiful in a traditional dining room, English country setting, Butler’s pantry, or used as part of a formal tea/coffee service.

Good antique condition with attractive age-related patina and surface wear consistent with use. There is some thinning of the silver plate on the coffeepot and along the rim of the teapot revealing a lovely golden glow.
