Hand signed … Read more A modern figurative lithograph in colors on paper titled "La Signora in Rosso" by Italian artist Remo Squillantini. Hand signed in pencil on the lower right, titled mid bottom, and annotated 48/175 on the lower left. Published circa 1980s. A composition depicting three figures with a certain energetic sensuality yet also disconnection and melancholy. Inspired by the German Expressionists, the artist explores the human existence and how a void is often filled with vices. Remo Squillantini's (1920-1996) career began as an illustrator with publications in Italy as well as abroad. He lived and worked in Florence, Italy until he passed in 1996. Squillantini's works are exhibited in important public and private galleries, and his works are found in prestigious collections in Italy and abroad, including the United States, Canada, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
