A pair of Chinese blue and white porcelain ginger jars, each with a flush-fitting flat lid, painted in cobalt blue with two birds, a smaller crested bird perched above a long-tailed pheasant, amid peonies and flowering branches, the reverse left plain but for a calligraphic mark, 20th century.
