J.B. Van Sciver was one of the biggest furniture names on the East Coast — a Camden, NJ institution that opened in 1881 and grew to occupy ten acres. This round wood-top side table is attributed to the late 19th century, right out of their earliest era.
The style is Victorian Aesthetic Movement — the bamboo and rattan craze inspired by Japanese design that swept American homes in the 1880s and '90s. Lattice apron, X-stretcher base, and distinctive green rattan-wrapped joints. The real deal.
