The design combines … Read more This elegant pair of German cane armchairs was produced by Adolf Wrenger in Lemgo during the 1960s. The design combines traditional Chippendale Revival elements with the proportions and comfort of mid-20th-century salon furniture.

The armchairs feature polished wooden frames with curved armrests, cabriole-style legs and decorative woven cane panels on the sides and back. The removable seat and back cushions are upholstered in a floral tapestry-style fabric in soft tones of cream, green, ochre, rust and muted blue, finished with decorative piping and trim.

Beneath the loose cushions is a traditional textile webbing support system. The cane panels are well preserved, and the chairs remain in very good original vintage condition with natural signs of age and use. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
