What makes the piece particularly interesting is the balance between disciplined geometry and the variation of a hand-worked ceramic surface. The pale incised lines remain crisp against the richly colored glaze, while subtle shifts in the green give the composition depth and keep the pattern from feeling mechanically precise. A finely incised cream border frames the interior, and simple horizontal bands wrap the otherwise restrained exterior.

The broad, shallow proportions make this an especially versatile decorative bowl—the colorful interior remains visible on a coffee table, dining table, kitchen island, or credenza, and the bowl has enough scale to hold its own and would display beautifully upright as a decorative ceramic object. The emerald green works especially well alongside warm woods, cane, stone, plaster, and other natural materials.

The underside is incised Haunsø with additional markings and stamped MADE IN DENMARK. Based on its markings and design, the bowl appears to date to the mid-20th century, likely the 1950s–1960s.

A wonderful piece for a collected interior and particularly good alongside Scandinavian modern, Danish modern, mid-century, and organic modern furnishings.

Condition:

Fair vintage condition with visible age-related surface wear - including areas of wear or glaze loss within the central crosshatched decoration, wear along portions of the rim, surface chips to sides, and flaking to glaze. Overall in structurally good condition with no cracks. Overall wear adds to the character of this piece. Please see all photos for condition.
