This highly collectible piece belongs to Kauba’s legendary and scandalous "Naughties" (Metamorphic/Automaton) series, titled "Metamorphosis."True to Kauba's brilliant miniature engineering, the figurine features a fully functioning mechanism built into the bronze stool. When the stool is opened via its original miniature hinge, the outer layers of the dancer’s dress swing open along crisp, hidden seams, beautifully transforming the figure to reveal a detailed nude sculpture underneath.

Features the highly sought-after, authentic hand-incised "KK" workshop hallmark beautifully struck inside the crescent/horseshoe border directly on the bronze stool casting.

Origin: Vienna, Austria (Circa 1900–1915).
