This highly sculptural, asymmetrical piece features an organic, fluid design characteristic of the period, depicting a stylized shell or wave form. Flanking the side is a beautifully modeled, high-relief figure of a reclining nude water nymph or sea goddess with cascading, flowing hair that sweeps across the basin.The dish retains its original, rich, deep brown and golden bronze finish, exhibiting an authentic, untouched historic patina with subtle hints of verdigris and oxidation that beautifully emphasize the sculptural details. The underside features a clear, raised signature stamp for the artist/maker "A.J.
