This is an exhibition poster promoting a display of Henri Matisse's drawings and sculptures, held at the French National Museum of Modern Art in Paris.
Henri Matisse (1869–1954) was a French artist celebrated for his bold use of color and fluid draughtsmanship. A painter, sculptor, and printmaker, he is regarded—alongside Picasso and Duchamp—as a defining figure of early 20th-century modern art. Initially labeled a Fauve (“wild beast”), Matisse later came to embody the classical tradition in French painting. His expressive command of color and line secured his place as one of modern art’s most influential masters.
