This elegant four-drawer lowboy features a classic arrangement of one long upper drawer over three lower drawers, highlighted by an elaborately carved central drawer with a deeply sculpted shell surrounded by scrolling foliate ornament. The shaped apron continues the carved shell motif, while boldly carved acanthus knees flow into graceful cabriole legs terminating in traditional ball-and-claw feet.

Reeded corner columns, rich mahogany veneers, and original pierced brass Chippendale-style bail pulls complete the design, reflecting the meticulous craftsmanship associated with Councill's fine furniture collections. Condition: Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and professional studio use. Scattered scratches, finish wear and surface marks are present, particularly to the top. The upper drawer has an older repair at one front corner/dovetail joint; the repair is stable and only minimally visible from the front when the drawer is closed.
