Rare Art Deco vase with deep sandblasted and engraved decoration depicting a floating female figure surrounded by waves and aquatic foliage. A technically accomplished and visually striking example of mid-century Scandinavian glass artistry. Origin: Sweden. Material: Crystal glass, sandblasted and engraved. Dimensions: H. 30 cm, D. 22 cm. Period: 1949. Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear. Engraved text from 1949. Orrefors’ engraved works from the 1930s and 40s are considered among the glassworks’ finest achievements. The combination of deep sandblasting and hand engraving gives the motifs exceptional sculptural depth.
