Offered is a medium sized tray by Couroc of Monterey, California with an inlaid mushroom motif featuring brass encasing inlaid wood. It's an early piece, circa 1950s, designed by Moira Wallace Courvoisier, the wife of Couroc's founder Guthrie Courvoisier.. The base tray is made of a proprietary black lacquer phenolic resin (water, burn, stain, and detergent-resistant plastic), a creation he developed for World War 2 planes, and inlaid redwood. It bears the original Couroc manufacturer's foil label and an embossed logo.
