Unlike mass-produced production … Read more An exceptional artisan-crafted Mid-Century Modern six-drawer lowboy dresser, constructed entirely from highly figured, genuine solid elm wood. Unlike mass-produced production pieces of the era, this unit features a solid timber carcase utilizing traditional structural joinery, entirely eliminating the use of commercial veneers or engineered composite cores.
The architectural facade showcases six flush-fitting drawers decorated with precise, handle-free horizontal louvered slats that serve as continuous integrated finger pulls. The cabinet rests on beautifully integrated, slightly inset tapered dowel legs. The deep, swirling elm grain features gorgeous natural honey and gold tones throughout.
The piece has been meticulously restored using a traditional multi-step workshop process. The raw wood was first fed with premium oils to draw out the natural figure and contrast of the grain. The top surface has been sealed with coats of fine wipe-on polyurethane to provide an ultra-durable barrier against moisture and scratches, making it perfectly suited for use as a high-end living room TV media console or dining room sideboard buffet. The entire carcase has been hand-buffed with protective wax for a smooth, low-luster satin sheen. Drawers slide smoothly on clean, integrated wooden runners.
