Vintage set of 4 Pearl Stoneware Blue & White Transfer Plates by Podmore & Walker and Co.
These early Staffordshire plates were made around 1849’s by Podmore & Walker early pioneers of blue and white. I have decorated my house and New York apartment with them. Always looked beautiful and much admired.
Two of the plates have potter’s bubbles on the back. It does not affect the beauty no does it affect the use of the plates. Many of the blue & white porcelain china made during this period had potter’s finger marks, bubbles, flaws that potters could not control at the time. After 1854 Wedgwood joined the company.
