An exceptional late 19th century English Tunbridge Ware tea caddy, showcasing the extraordinary craftsmanship for which the workshops of Tunbridge Wells became internationally renowned. The elegant domed lid is exquisitely decorated with intricate geometric mosaic inlay, demonstrating the remarkable precision and artistry that define this highly collectible form.
The interior remains beautifully complete, retaining its original twin tea compartments, crystal mixing bowl, both fitted compartment lids and the original key, a combination that is increasingly difficult to find.
Rich in detail and remarkably well preserved, this handsome tea caddy is both a functional survivor of the Victorian tea tradition and an outstanding example of English decorative craftsmanship.
