The Franz Welz company was founded by the Kopp Family in 1728 and it was named Franz Welz After Vaclav Weltz married Marie Ann Kopp in 1794. This Glass basket was made in their Oxblood Blue & White pattern that they created circa 1890 and it was hand blown by a skilled glass craftsmen who hand applied this thorn handle with a loop in the center to show off the skill of the artist. This Franz Welz Bohemian art glass hand blown basket is in Pristine Condition with no chips, no cracks, no repairs, and very little wear to the basket for the age of it.
