the piece, crafted from dark-stained beechwood, features clean, architectural lines characteristic of hoffmann's work and the vienna secession.

these designs by josef hoffmann are based on horseshoe-shaped legs and the use of spheres as connecting elements.

a matching "fledermaus chair," also designed by josef hoffmann for j&j kohn, is available.

this very rare chair differs from standard models by means of a cross brace at the base. This achieves greater stability despite its lightness.

the ensemble was renovated approximately 20 years ago (shellac polish) and is in good condition. The chair is upholstered in original backhausen fabric by josef hoffmann.
