Rare bowl in Blue Fluted Plain, made in the classic fluted form and decorated with hand-painted cobalt blue underglaze. The bowl features a gently scalloped rim and is a less commonly encountered model within the service, suitable for both serving and display. Origin: Denmark. Manufacturer: Royal Copenhagen. Pattern: Blue Fluted Plain. Material: Porcelain. Model: 1/311. Dimensions: H. 9 cm, D. 20 cm. Period: 1963. Condition: First quality. Excellent condition with light, age-related signs of wear. Blue Fluted Plain was introduced in 1775 and is Royal Copenhagen’s oldest and most iconic pattern. Inspired by Chinese blue-and-white porcelain, the decoration is characterised by its disciplined composition, rhythmic brushwork and finely executed hand-painted details. Bowls of this size were used for serving both hot and cold dishes and reflect the factory’s high level of craftsmanship in the mid-20th century. See less
