The table has three original leaves which can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion and it stands on a pair of quadruped faceted bases terminating in carved paw feet and castors. The table top is of beautiful flame mahogany and there is no mistaking the fine craftsmanship of this handsome dining table, which is certain to become a treasured addition to your furniture collection, and a talking point with guests at meal times. The superb set of twelve irish george iv, regency period, flame mahogany dining chairs date from circa 1825. The set comprises ten side chairs and a pair of armchairs, all masterfully crafted in beautiful solid flame mahogany. Each with a curved back and shaped eared foliate wrapped s-scroll carved toprail centred by a lappeted lambrequin, above an acanthus carved baluster form splat. The chairs are raised on stylish ring-turned baluster and reeded tapering front legs, square splayed rear legs, with stuff-over drop-in seats that have been reupholstered in a sumptuous cream damask. There is no mistaking the fine craftsmanship of this handsome dining set which is certain to become a treasured addition to your furniture collection and a talking point with guests at meal times. The botanical name for the mahogany that this item is made of is swietenia macrophylla and this type of mahogany is not subject to cites regulation and does not contain any restricted materials. Condition: in excellent condition, having been beautifully cleaned, polished and waxed and the chairs reupholstered in our workshops; please see photos for confirmation.
