A compact Danish teak writing desk from the 1960s with an especially useful arrangement of storage built into the form. Three drawers sit to one side with recessed sculpted pulls, while open bookshelves run along the opposite side and across the back.
The desk has a warm, straightforward presence, with tapered legs, low stretcher rails, and a gently shaped top that softens the otherwise architectural construction. The asymmetrical layout gives it character without making it feel busy.
Its smaller scale makes it easy to place in a bedroom, study, or living space, while the side and rear shelving offer room for books, records, or objects without adding extra furniture around it. Because the back is designed to be seen, it also works well floated in a room rather than pushed against a wall.
A thoughtful Danish modern desk with more storage and personality than its compact proportions first suggest.
