A rare large French 1925-1930 art deco six light chandelier in wrought iron holding 6 glass panels in molded-pressed glass. The chandelier was made by B. Morin. A company in the city of Lyon France during the interbellum producing wrought iron and bronze lighting fixtures. The forged iron pieces of Morin were sold in numerous shops. For instance by Louis Ravaud in Lyon. The chandelier is represented in one of the old Morin catalogs from the 30s (see picture; the catalog is no part of this sale) as well as in the catalog of L. Ravaud. The shades used for this chandelier are a model that is never signed. They were produced in Belgium by the famous Val Saint-Lambert glass factories. It is represented in the old Val Saint-Lambert product catalogs in their series of Nacrocrystal shades as shade #2518.

The chandelier is 103 cm high (40,55 inches) and about 55 cm wide (21,65 "). It's in excellent condition. The iron has a nice deep-brown patina. Also the six panels are in very good condition. No damages to report accept for the usual chips on the rim of one or two panels that are hidden behind the iron fixture. As you can see on the last picture two of the six panels leave a tiny opening between glass and fixture. At first I thought it was the hand forged iron that must have been irregular but after a closer look it turned out that all the shades have a slightly different curve and some are bolder than others. Molds were used for this type of pressed art deco shades but it still remained hand work... The chandelier is rewired with six American candelabra base sockets.
