Attributed to Anzolo Fuga who designed the vase for AVeM (Arte Vetraria Muranese) of Murano in or around 1955. The design is from Fuga's "Astrale" series of blown glass decor.

This unique and visually striking vase showcases precise vertical white filigree stripes encased within deep orange/ruby glass. This technique creates a vertical optical pattern that curves up along the vase's body and then up and over the flared rim. The interior is an opaque milk-white glass. The lower body transitions into a rich amber-red sommerso layer and continues with a layer of black and then a base of deep sky blue and clear glass. The base had been ground and fire-polished flat with no remaining sign of a pontil scar.

The vase stands 15 3/8 inches tall, is 4 1/4 inches wide, 6 1/2 inches deep, and weighs 7 1/2 lbs. In excellent condition with no signs of cracks or damage. There are tiny flea bite nicks along the edge of the base (see photos) from previous display.
