Fabulous Robert Sperry studio pottery bowl. Signed. Beautifully glazed as only he did.
About the artist:
Robert Sperry is among the most influential and well known ceramics artists in the Pacific Northwest. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Saskatchewan, a Bachelor of Fine Ats degree from the Art Institute of Chicago in 1953, and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Washington in 1955. For over thirty years, he served as Professor of Ceramics at the University of Washington in Seattle. We was also a painter, printmaker, and filmmaker who helped launch the UW’s foils program and co-founded Northwest Designer Craftsmen. His art works are in many museums, including the Smithsonian.
