The low, generous proportions echo the 1930s, while the sweeping stainless steel frame pulls it somewhere far more modern, fluid, reflective, and deliberately architectural.Reimagined in-house with C2, this piece has been fully reupholstered in Harlequin’s ‘Fawn’ fabric, an animal print that refuses to sit quietly. What was once covered in distressed leather and carried a distinctly masculine weight has been reworked into something more refined, the introduction of this fabric lending a new sense of elegance, lightness, and confidence to the piece. The polished steel arms curve around the body of the chair in one continuous gesture, catching light from every angle. It’s this contrast, soft, textural upholstery against cold, engineered steel that gives the Mars its edge. This isn’t a chair designed to blend in. In a corner, it becomes a focal point. The scale is generous without being heavy, making it as functional as it is sculptural.Sarah and Jelena see this as the perfect chair for hosting, something to settle into in the living room after hours, drink in hand, when the room softens and the lighting drops. Equally, it holds its own in a bedroom - not just as somewhere to sit, but as a piece that draws the eye and gives the space a sense of identity. There’s a reason the Mars remains one of Oulton’s most recognised designs - it doesn’t follow trends, it creates a reaction. This version leans into that fully.Height 70 cm (27.6 inches)Seat height 43 cm (16.9 inches)Width 77 cm (30.3 inches)Depth 90 cm (35.4 inches) Good Condition. Slight surface scratching.
