Degué
A beautiful French 1930 art deco chandelier in nickel plated solid brass holding shades by Degué in frosted molded-pressed glass. Degué , the company directed by David Guéron, opened their doors in 1925. Guéron employed the ceramist and designer Cazaux as his artistic director and head designer. In 1936 production stopped and it finally closed down in 1939.
The high-quality fixture has nice detailed decorations. The central bowl is one large shade and not four slip shades held by the mounting. Two of the four arms can be turned side wards for the shade to enter.
The heavy pyramid shaped bowl is unsigned. The four side-shades are all signed Degue. The chandelier is 95,5 cm high (37,6") and has a diameter of 63 cm (24,9"). It's in good condition. The fixture has been replated and patinated and the chandelier is newly wired. It holds five American candelabra base sockets.
