A great looking pair of antique Italian Baroque style torchères, c.1880
Featuring heavily ornate relief details, acanthus leaf molding and architectural motifs. Below the round platform top is a heavily hand carved decorative central column standing on a triform base. The overall worn finish has a gray color with surface wear of the paint and gesso, revealing the wood structure underneath. Both stand firm and upright. They would make impressive floor pillars, plant pedestals or urn stands. Top cap diameter 15.5”
